Dating back to the late 1700s, and built in the style of a Georgian manor house, The Rectory sits on a bluff enjoying stunning views of the North West Coast of the island and the Caribbean Sea.
At one time the Rectory for the historic St. Peter’s Parish Church, the property comprises just over 3 acres of landscaped grounds, the Main House and the Carriage House. The two-storey Main House features expansive living, family and formal dining rooms which all open to a full-length verandah ideal for casual lounging and dining. At the rear of the house is the well-appointed kitchen which adjoins the cozy breakfast room. An elegant staircase leads up to the upper level and a full bathroom is positioned just off the half landing. On the upper level there is the master suite as well as four spacious bedrooms which share a second full bathroom. There is also a basement with slate floors which could be utilized as a media room or home gym. The original brick oven still remains and there are additional storage areas. Beautifully restored by the current owners the buildings retain the authentic features of a by-gone era – thick, coral stone walls, Black Cherry floors throughout, tall double-hung Sash windows with deep window seats and inner and outer shutters. Within the courtyard are the original limestone ‘drip stones’, historically used to filter and purify drinking water.
Across the courtyard is the Carriage House which comprises a beautiful one-bedroom apartment on the upper level and garage and a storage room on the lower level.
A swimming pool and gazebo have been constructed on the western side of the property taking advantage of the magnificent sea views.
The Rectory is ideally located a short drive from beautiful beaches as well as the northern town of Speightstown where there is a wide range of shopping amenities, restaurants and supermarkets.
